When SerpApi suits you better
SerpApi covers far more engines and very detailed result fields. If you need Baidu, Amazon or Yahoo results, or legal shield guarantees, stay with SerpApi.
Migrating
Replace GET serpapi.com/search?q=... with POST https://x402serps.com/api/v1/search {"q": ...}. Use gl/hl for country and language, num for result count and page for pagination. Results are in results[] with title, url and snippet. n8n users can use our MCP server instead of the SerpApi node: see the n8n guide.
How it works
SerpApi returns very detailed result pages with many engine-specific blocks. Many AI agents only need the organic results: a ranked list of titles, URLs and snippets. x402serps focuses on that compact shape, which keeps prompts small and parsing simple.
Each endpoint is a single POST. Web search, news, images, places, shopping, scholar and videos are separate endpoints with the same request style, so one helper function covers all of them. Results come from a third-party search provider and are normalised before they reach you.
Payment is per call. x402 lets an agent pay $0.004 in USDC on Base or Solana with no account, which suits autonomous agents that cannot complete a signup or hold a subscription.
Request and response: /api/v1/search
POST /api/v1/search costs $0.004 per call. Send the parameters as a JSON body.
curl -X POST https://x402serps.com/api/v1/search \
-H "content-type: application/json" \
-H "X-Trial: 1" \
-d '{"q":"x402 protocol","num":10,"gl":"us"}'Example response (values shortened; field names are exactly what the API returns):
{
"query": "x402 protocol",
"provider": "primary",
"results": [
{
"position": 1,
"title": "x402",
"url": "https://x402.org/",

}Request and response: /api/v1/news
POST /api/v1/news costs $0.004 per call. Send the parameters as a JSON body.

}Use cases
- LLM tool calls. Small JSON keeps token use down when results go straight into a model context.
- Monitoring keywords. Run scheduled news or web queries with freshness filters.
- Vertical lookups. Switch to /api/v1/places or /api/v1/scholar without learning a new response format.
- Usage-based billing. Pay only for the calls you make, with no monthly plan.
Paying for calls
Every call is priced on its own. With x402, an unpaid request returns HTTP 402 with the exact amount, asset and recipient for USDC on Base or Solana; your client signs a payment and repeats the same request, and results come back once the payment settles. No account or API key is involved. If you would rather pay by card, buy a credit pack on the pricing page and send Authorization: Bearer xs_.... Cached repeat queries cost half for credit keys, and failed calls are not charged. Paid calls have no per-minute rate limit.
FAQ
Does x402serps return every SERP feature?
No. It returns organic results and the fields listed in each endpoint's response schema. If you need knowledge graph panels or ads data, a full SERP scraper is a better fit.
Is pagination supported?
Yes, page 1 to 10 on search and news, and num up to 100 per call.
Do I need an account or API key?
No. With x402 the payment travels with the request, so there is nothing to sign up for. An API key (xs_...) is only used if you choose to prepay with a card.
Which chains and tokens are accepted?
USDC on Base mainnet and Solana mainnet, using the x402 exact scheme. Testnets are not accepted.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Send the header X-Trial: 1 on search, news, single-URL extract and the vertical endpoints. Trial calls are limited per network and to 10 a minute.
Where do the results come from?
Results are fetched live from a third-party search provider and normalised into a small, stable JSON shape. If the primary provider fails, calls fail over to a backup where one is configured.
Try it free
Add the header X-Trial: 1 for free trial calls (limited per network and to 10 a minute). Paid calls (x402 or a credit key) have no per-minute rate limit.
