Image results API

x402serps returns image results from a third-party search provider: title, source page url, image url, thumbnail and size, up to 20 per call, $0.004 a call.

How it works

The images endpoint returns image search results: the title, the page URL, the full image URL, a thumbnail, the source site and the image width and height.

Each call costs $0.004 and returns up to 20 results. Use gl to bias results to a country. Results are links to images hosted elsewhere; check the source site's licence before reusing an image.

A typical flow is to search for images, filter by width and height or by source domain, then hand the shortlisted imageUrl values to a vision model. Because the response is small and consistent, it is easy to log or cache in your own system. The same request style works for shopping and videos, so a product research agent can pull images, prices and review videos for one query with three calls at $0.004 each.

Request and response: /api/v1/images

POST /api/v1/images costs $0.004 per call. Send the parameters as a JSON body.

curl -X POST https://x402serps.com/api/v1/images \
  -H "content-type: application/json" \
  -H "X-Trial: 1" \
  -d '{"q":"golden gate bridge","num":10,"gl":"us"}'

Example response (values shortened; field names are exactly what the API returns):

{
  "query": "golden gate bridge",
  "provider": "primary",
  "results": [
    {
      "position": 1,
      "title": "Golden Gate Bridge at sunset",
      "url": "https://example.org/golden-gate",
      "imageUrl": "https://example.org/images/golden-gate.jpg",
      "thumbnailUrl": "https://example-cdn.com/thumb.jpg",
      "source": "example.org",
      "width": 1920,
      "height": 1080
    }
  ]
}

Use cases

  • Visual research. Give a multimodal agent candidate images to inspect.
  • Product pages. Find reference images for a product name.
  • Content drafting. Suggest images, with source links, for an article.
  • Dataset seeding. Collect image URLs for a labelled set, subject to licences.

Paying for calls

Every call is priced on its own. With x402, an unpaid request returns HTTP 402 with the exact amount, asset and recipient for USDC on Base or Solana; your client signs a payment and repeats the same request, and results come back once the payment settles. No account or API key is involved. If you would rather pay by card, buy a credit pack on the pricing page and send Authorization: Bearer xs_.... Cached repeat queries cost half for credit keys, and failed calls are not charged. Paid calls have no per-minute rate limit.

FAQ

Which countries are supported?

Pass a two-letter country code in gl, for example us, gb or de, to bias results towards images popular in that market.

How many images can I get per call?

Up to 20 with num. For more, run related queries; each call is priced separately at $0.004.

Can I use this from MCP?

Yes. The images tool is exposed on the MCP server at https://x402serps.com/api/mcp with the same parameters.

Do you host the images?

No. imageUrl points to the original host and thumbnailUrl to a provider thumbnail.

Can I filter by size or licence?

Not with dedicated parameters today. width and height are returned so you can filter client-side.

Do I need an account or API key?

No. With x402 the payment travels with the request, so there is nothing to sign up for. An API key (xs_...) is only used if you choose to prepay with a card.

Which chains and tokens are accepted?

USDC on Base mainnet and Solana mainnet, using the x402 exact scheme. Testnets are not accepted.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Send the header X-Trial: 1 on search, news, single-URL extract and the vertical endpoints. Trial calls are limited per network and to 10 a minute.

Try it free

Add the header X-Trial: 1 for free trial calls (limited per network and to 10 a minute). Paid calls (x402 or a credit key) have no per-minute rate limit.

curl -X POST https://x402serps.com/api/v1/images -H "X-Trial: 1" -H "content-type: application/json" -d '{"q":"golden gate bridge at night"}'
