About x402serps
x402serps is a web search API and MCP server built for AI agents. Agents and developers pay per call, either in USDC on Base or Solana using the x402 protocol, or with prepaid card credits.
What it does
The API returns live results from a third-party search provider in a small, consistent JSON format: web search, news, images, places, shopping, scholar and videos at $0.004 per call, page extraction to markdown at $0.003 per URL, and combined search-and-read and research endpoints. The same tools are available over MCP at https://x402serps.com/api/mcp.
x402 means an agent can pay for a search itself, with no account, signup or API key. Every unpaid request gets an HTTP 402 response stating the exact price, and the agent pays and retries. Failed calls are not charged.
Who runs it
x402serps is built and run by Tim Johnson, an independent developer based in the United Kingdom.
Reliability
Primary search provider uptime over the last 24 hours: 100% across 11 calls. Live checks, provider uptime and endpoint latency are on the status page, also available as JSON at /api/status. Calls fail over to a backup provider when one is configured.
